Ashton & Bridge of Hope nominated for University Excellence Award

Ashton Community Trust Bridge of Hope

Ashton Community Trust and its Bridge of Hope department have been shortlisted for an Impact Excellence Award in recognition of its community-university partnership work on the Transitional Justice Grassroots Toolkit.

The Impact Excellence Awards celebrate Ulster University’s Civic Partnerships, and highlight the positive impact university students and academic staff are having on societies and economies, both locally and internationally.

The nomination: The Transitional Justice Institute (TJI) at Ulster University worked collaboratively with Bridge of Hope a department of Ashton Community Trust that supports victims & survivors of the conflict and is based in one of the most divided and volatile communities in NI to produce an internationally recognised participatory model for Grassroots Transitional Justice now being disseminated by TJI and Bridge of Hope.

The Awards Ceremony takes place on May 11 at the offices of the Belfast Harbour Commission. Others shortlisted in this Research Impact category include: Belfast Health & Social Care Trust; Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development; Ministry of Health, Child Development Centre, Republic of Seychelles and School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Rochester, New York, USA; International North West 200; Jubilee Australia and NI Civil Service.
