Belfast groups highlight mental health work with Junior Minister

Stormont Junior Minister Jennifer McCann has heard at first hand about work being carried out across the city of Belfast to address mental health and suicide issues.

The successful meeting took place on Wednesday May 13 in the North Belfast Social Enterprise Hub on York Street, managed by Ashton Community Trust.

The Junior Minister was invited to the city wide meeting by Irene Sherry Co-Chair North & West Belfast Protect Life Implementation Group and Stephen Barr, Co-Chair South & East Belfast Community of Interest for Mental Health Promotion & Suicide Prevention so that she could hear directly from groups working in these fields on the ground. The impact of cuts on the community and voluntary sector was also highlighted during the meeting.
